Trundle War Memorial Hall wins $10k upgrade

THE iconic War Memorial Hall at Trundle has been awarded $10,000 for a much-needed upgrade, Riverina Nationals’ MP Michael McCormack has announced.

“It is hard to drive down Forbes Street in Trundle and not be impressed by this wonderful building,” Mr McCormack said.

“As someone with an avid interest in local military history, I was taken by its beauty and can’t wait to learn more about the contribution Trundle made to the nation’s call in times of War throughout history.”

Mr McCormack paid tribute to the Hall Committee for their effort in advocating for the upgrade.

“This is a testament to the story and proactive nature of towns like Trundle. Many locals who are passionate about the area simply getting together to make a go of good funding streams such as this,” Mr McCormack said.

“The Nationals understand how vital local volunteer groups such as Hall Committees are to the social fabric of country communities. This is why we have tailored the Stronger Communities Programme to the kinds of organisations which may not always get funding.

“I know the work that will be undertaken in Trundle will ensure the town’s rich history and proud military story will be enshrined for future generations to commemorate,” Mr McCormack said.

The $10,000 investment will be made as part of the Stronger Communities Programme.
