McCORMACK ENCOURAGES RIVERINA AND CENTRAL WEST TO GET INTO THE FESTIVAL SPIRIT
The Nationals’ Member for Riverina Michael McCormack is inviting artists, art workers and organisations in the Riverina and Central West to apply for a slice of around $1.2 million in funding.
The Festivals Australia funding is available annually for arts and cultural projects that encourage community participation and audience engagement from people living in regional and rural communities through a festival or community celebration.
The funding is available for individual arts projects that are part of a regional or remote festival or a significant one-off community event.
Mr McCormack said the program was a fantastic opportunity for organisations to deliver high-quality shows for people living in the Riverina and Central West.
“The Liberals and Nationals in Government are proud to offer this funding so that regional and rural Australians can have access to the best in artistic experiences,” Mr McCormack said.
“It also gives Australian artists the opportunity to gain more exposure for their work while exposing audiences to a more diverse arts culture.”
Applications for this funding round close on Friday, October 20, 2017.
Organisations can apply for funding for individual arts projects that are part of a festival or community event.
