ORGANISATIONS URGED TO APPLY FOR VOLUNTEER GRANTS
THE Nationals’ Member for Riverina and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack is urging local volunteer organisations to apply for funding under the Volunteer Grants round.
Mr McCormack said community-minded organisations could apply for a share of up to $20 million in funding to support the efforts of their volunteers.
“Community organisations can apply for grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 to help with buying equipment such as laptops or to pay for training volunteers,” Mr McCormack said.
“Volunteers make up such an important part of any town and the Liberal and Nationals’ Government is committed to assisting local organisations which help maintain strong local communities.
“I encourage all not-for-profit organisations in the Riverina and Central West to apply for a Volunteer Grant to help them continue the great work they do.”
Eligible applicants must be Australian not-for-profit organisations or community groups whose volunteers’ work supports families and/or communities in Australia.
For more information or to apply, visit the Federal Government’s GrantConnect website: www.grants.gov.au and search using the ID code GO1514 or contact Mr McCormack’s Wagga Wagga office on 6921 4600.
Applications close on Tuesday 18 September 2018.
