MORE FUNDING TO SUPPORT DEFENCE FAMILIES IN RIVERINA
THE Nationals’ Member for Riverina and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack has helped secure more funding to assist local families of Defence Force personnel in the Riverina.
Defence community organisations Kapooka Neighbourhood House and the RAAF, Army, Navy Community House (RANCH) have secured grants as part of a $1.4 million package under the Federal Government’s Family Support Funding Program.
Mr McCormack said RANCH will receive $19,500 and Kapooka Neighbourhood House will receive $8,800 under the latest round of funding announced recently.
“The Family Support Funding Program is a great Liberal and Nationals’ Government initiative which helps build up Defence families,” Mr McCormack said.
“The Defence Community Organisation does a fantastic job working with Kapooka Neighbourhood House and the RAAF, Army, Navy Community House to assist families who can sometimes struggle moving from place to place.”
Mr McCormack said both organisations also received funding earlier this year.
“This latest funding announcement comes on top of Kapooka Neighbourhood House and RANCH receiving $25,350 and $20,500 respectively, announced in January this year,” Mr McCormack said.
The community grants are awarded to not-for-profit incorporated community groups which support Defence families by helping them engage with their local communities, promote personal growth and support child and youth development.
