INFRASTRUCTURE BOARD APPOINTMENT
THE Australian Government has announced the appointment of Rod Hook to the Board of Infrastructure Australia (IA).
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said Mr Hook brought a wealth of infrastructure knowledge and experience to the Board.
“Mr Hook will be an asset to IA thanks to his proven track record in public sector management and governance, infrastructure, transport, planning and the environment,” Mr McCormack said.
“Mr Hook was most recently Chief Executive of the South Australian Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure, so he is no stranger to the infrastructure and transport sector.
“Previously he served as South Australia’s Commissioner of Highways as the Rail Commissioner and the Coordinator-General.
“IA Board members require knowledge and experience relevant to the functions of IA, as well as a mix of experience in industry, private or public sectors and local government. Mr Hook certainly fits the bill and I welcome him to the role.”
Infrastructure Australia (IA) is an independent statutory body that provides advice on Australia’s infrastructure priorities and policy reforms. It also assists governments in their infrastructure investment decision-making.
The IA Board consists of 12 members, including a Chair. Mr Hook’s appointment follows that of Peter Harris AO and Samantha Hogg from 1 March 2019.
