McCORMACK DELIVERS $10 MILLION FOR NEW PCYC FACILITY

WAGGA WAGGA’S youth will have a state-of-the-art facility for generations to come with The Nationals Member for Riverina and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack securing $10 million for a new Police Citizens’ Youth Club (PCYC) facility.

Mr McCormack said he fought tirelessly to secure funding for the important investment.

“I have been a big supporter of the PCYC in its bid to relocate from its current location to a brand new facility,” Mr McCormack said.

“This project will enrich the local community and that is why I have taken the fight to Canberra to see it receive the money it needs to put shovels in the ground.”

Mr McCormack said the PCYC had played an important role in the Wagga Wagga community for more than 50 years but the organisation had outgrown its current site.

“PCYC has been operating out of the existing site on Gurwood Street since 1963 and is well overdue for an upgrade,” Mr McCormack said.

“The planned new facility will ensure the youth of the city and wider Wagga Wagga region have a fantastic and modern space for many generations to come and will allow the PCYC to deliver further activities and benefits to the region.”

Plans for the new site include a large multipurpose hall, which will be large enough to house three indoor basketball courts, as well as activity rooms, a café, a youth hub and 120 undercover car parking spaces.
