NEW GOLDENFIELDS WATER APP MAKING A SPLASH
GOLDENFIELDS Water customers in the Riverina will today become the first Australians to monitor their water consumption through a free mobile app.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development and Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack said the Goldenfields Water App would help residents reduce water consumption and prevent bill shock.
“The app is based on the existing online monitoring service. Customers will be able to monitor their water consumption 24/7 and receive live information and updates on leaks, drought restrictions, public health issues, emergency situations and supply interruptions,” Mr McCormack said.
“You will be able to report issues and raise requests at your fingertips, saving both time and energy – especially for those who live more than a three hours’ drive from the Goldenfields Water central office.
“The app is fast and easy to use and was made possible through the Liberal and Nationals Government’s Smart Cities and Suburbs Program which supports projects that apply smart technology, data-driven decision-making and people-focused design.
“The Goldenfields Water County Council received $100,000 under Round 1 of the program, which delivered $27.7 million to local governments with innovative ideas.”
Goldenfields Water General Manager Aaron Drenovski thanked the Australian Government for its contribution.
“The Goldenfields Water app will put our customers at the forefront of water service technology and ensure our 11,000 customer connections will have even better access to information about their essential water supply services,” Mr Drenovski said.
“Goldenfields Water customers that already have an existing login with the MyH2O online service will be able to use the same login details for the app.”
Customers will benefit in Bland, Coolamon, Junee, Temora, parts of Cootamundra-Gundagai and Narrandera.
The Federal Liberal and Nationals Government contributed $100,000 to the project, which was matched by the Goldenfields Water County Council.
