$900,000 FUNDING FOR THE RIVERINA ANGLICAN COLLEGE

The Riverina Anglican College will benefit from a $900,000 Federal Government grant to go towards the construction of a Junior School.

Deputy Prime Minister and Member for Riverina Michael McCormack said the funding, delivered through the Capital Grants Program, would provide students with new learning spaces.

“This $900,000 Federal Government grant will go towards building a junior school building containing six general learning spaces, a flexible learning area as well as student amenities and an administration area,” Mr McCormack said.

“This wonderful school community will be further enhanced by these improvements and allow the school to expand to include junior students.

“The Capital Grants Program has benefited many schools across the nation, including several in the Riverina and Central West, which has helped students and teachers thrive with access to modern facilities.”

College Principal Paul Humble said that 2021 would see the expansion of a Junior School at The Riverina Anglican College with more than 170 new enrolments.

“The Junior School will provide experiences and opportunities for all students to excel in our exceptional learning spaces that complement a multi pedagogical approach to transform lives through exceptional education,” Mr Humble said.

“As an innovative and creative learning community, we are excited by the support provided to us by the Federal Government that has allowed the long-awaited vision of the College Board for a new Junior School to come to fruition.”

The Federal Government is ensuring every child gets a quality education no matter where they go to school by providing a record $314.7 billion for all Australian schools from 2018 to 2029.

“As I have said many times before, your postcode should not determine your potential or access to quality education,” Mr McCormack said.

The funding announcement is one of 158 projects approved for funding under the Capital Grants Program to begin in 2021.
