MOBILE SERVICE CENTRE PROVIDES ACCESS TO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES

The Federal Government’s Mobile Service Centre Desert Rose is travelling through the Riverina to provide support to rural and regional communities.

Member for Riverina Michael McCormack said Desert Rose provided customer assistance with essential government services including Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services.

The towns and dates Desert Rose will visit are:

• Grenfell on Tuesday, 13 July, and Wednesday, 14 July

• West Wyalong on Thursday, 15 July, and Friday, 16 July

• Temora on Monday, 19 July, and Tuesday, 20 July

• Cootamundra on Wednesday, 21 July, and Thursday, 22 July

• Junee on Tuesday, 27 July

• Coolamon on Wednesday, 28 July

• Ardlethan on Thursday, 29 July

Desert Rose is one of three trucks in the Mobile Service Centre fleet operated by Services Australia.

In total, Mobile Service Centres have travelled more than 970,000 kilometres since 2006 and have assisted more than 165,000 customers in more than 5,300 communities.

Mr McCormack said anyone with Centrelink, Medicare or Veterans’ Affairs questions should head down and talk to the staff aboard Desert Rose.

“Staff on board Desert Rose provide friendly face-to-face services, information and support tailored to customers in rural and regional communities,” Mr McCormack said.

“They’re able to help with Centrelink claims, Medicare registrations and a number of other essential government services.”
