$6,500 cements better facilities for Men's Shed
Concrete flooring, work benches and shelving are set to become a reality thanks to a $6,500 investment from the Coalition Government into Gundagai’s Men’s Shed, Riverina MP Michael McCormack has announced.
Announced as part of the Coalition’s National Shed Development programme, local MP Michael McCormack said the investment will build upon the shed’s strengths.
“I was delighted to help open the shed earlier this year, so I have seen first-hand the great strength of the local Men’s Shed to Gundagai,” Mr McCormack said.
“It’s this kind of upgrade and investment which means more men will use its facilities and gain a greater understanding of their health.
“As well as providing much-needed construction for local volunteer organisations, Men’s Sheds are a good opportunity for men to chat about a whole range of health issues, including prostate cancer and depression.
“I understand how vital projects such as these are for men, particularly those in country areas.
“This is why I am so delighted the much-needed concrete flooring and installation of work benches and shelving will soon become a reality,” Mr McCormack said.
