INVESTING IN LOCAL PROJECTS FOR DEVONPORT
Devonport will receive $3.2 million worth of local projects thanks to Federal Liberal and Nationals Government funding.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said $3 million will be invested in a vehicle entry point into Tasmania.
“The funding will go towards street scaping, soft infrastructure and foliage, underground power lines and entry marker signage,” Mr McCormack said.
Liberal Senator for Tasmania Richard Colbeck said the Government is also investing $200,000 in the redevelopment of the Devonport Bulls Facility.
“The change rooms will be extended along with new electrical and plumbing works,” Senator Colbeck said.
“By securing new community sporting infrastructure our Government is helping bring Tasmanians closer together.”
The Nationals’ Senator for Tasmania Steve Martin said the Liberals and Nationals are investing in local projects because we understand Australia is made of more than big infrastructure projects.
“This is part of my agenda of getting a fair share for regional Tasmania and a concrete example of the Nationals in Government building stronger Tasmanian communities,” Senator Martin said.
